St Mary’s Chipping Norton, led by James Kennedy, has recently appointed a Youth Pastor. Currently the post is funded by the PCC, but the PCC have projected a significant budget deficit for the coming year. In spite of this, they have made the appointment of the Youth Pastor prayerfully, on the basis of a faith stretch in their budget and proactively seeking numerous sources of funding.

St Mary’s explain that the work is designed to
– maintain, develop and grow the discipleship of the youth within our church
– seek to extend the outreach and evangelism to youth within our wider community
– coordinate the joint youth activity across the North Cotswold Gospel Partnership

Specifically the role includes
– Building and strengthening the volunteer teams for delivering Sunday morning groups
– Mentoring and discipleship
– Youth Weekend Away
– Youth Alpha
– Serving and building relationships with youth in the community through Remix (Friday afternoon community youth group), Youth Alpha and Youth Hikes.
– Strengthening the existing relationship with the local schools through regular gospel focused assemblies and running the youth group, Remix, at the school on Friday afternoons.
– Establish a Youth Worshiping community in the Branch.

Amount requested specifically from OGST is £3,000 pa for the next 3 years.
